Our story began with a single knot.
KnotGate Atelier opened its doors in 2019 in the coastal hills of Northern California. We started with one evening workshop and a handful of curious students. Today our studio welcomes makers from every continent who seek calm, focus and the quiet satisfaction of working with their hands.
Mission
We teach macramé as a mindful practice that reconnects people with themselves and with the objects they live among. Every course we design is built around slow, deliberate repetition that turns fiber into both functional beauty and a personal ritual.
Craftsmanship
We honor traditional techniques while exploring contemporary forms that feel at home in modern interiors.
Community
Our classrooms are places where strangers quickly become collaborators and friends.
Sustainability
We source only natural fibers and reusable tools, leaving the smallest possible footprint.
